💡 New Tonight — The Glow Up

The Glow Up

Party lighting & ambiance designer. Every other tool on this site dressed the table, the wall or the ceiling — this one turns the lights on. Pick the room and the mood, choose your fixtures, and get the real fixture counts, the wattage and circuit math, an ambiance verdict, and a living picture of the room after dark — plus a printable lighting plan Isabella can set up tonight.

Step 1

Where the lights go

The room decides the fixture count; the mood decides the color. Isabella never lights a room she hasn't measured.

Step 2

What lights the room

Tap the fixtures you want. Each one adds its own count, cost and wattage — and the power check below keeps you on the right side of the breaker.

Up to 12 letters — what the sign spells when the neon fixture is on.

“Anyone can buy balloons. The light is what makes them look expensive. I've seen a $400 garland look like a $4,000 install because two uplights were pointed at the right wall — and I've seen a $4,000 install look like a school dance because someone turned the ceiling lights on full.”

Power & ambiance

Will it trip the breaker?

Isabella's hard rule: never load a circuit past 80%. A 15-amp circuit at 120 volts is 1,800 watts — so she plans for 1,440 W per circuit and treats anything above it as a second breaker, not a dare.

Wait — the balloon company does lighting?

Lighting is the other half of a balloon install. Isabella started carrying uplights because clients kept renting a beautiful ceiling and then lighting it with the room's fluorescent strips. The fixtures aren't a side business; they're the reason the balloons photograph the way they do.

Is the wattage math real, or just for show?

Real, but simple on purpose. Every fixture has a real draw; the total is compared against 1,440 W — the 80% ceiling of a standard 15-amp / 120-volt circuit — and anything over that becomes another circuit. It's the same check Isabella does in the venue, on paper, before she loads the van.

What's the difference between an uplight and a pinspot?

An uplight washes a whole wall from the floor — it sets the room. A pinspot is a tight, focused beam that picks out one thing: the cake, the floral, the neon sign. You want many uplights and only a few pinspots, and you aim the pinspots last, once the room is glowing.

Can't I just use some string lights and call it a mood?

You can, and it'll look nice — soft and a little flat. Festoon strings give you warmth; they don't give you depth. The moment you add uplights to the walls behind them, the room stops being lit and starts being designed. That's the whole trick.

How many uplights do I actually need?

Measure the room's perimeter. One uplight every 8 ft gives an even wash; every 12 ft gives you dramatic, visible cones. The Glow Up does the perimeter math for you and lets you slide the glow level to trade budget for drama.

How does this connect to my decor?

Pick the mood here, then take the counts and the color to the Cost Estimator or straight to Isabella. She matches the light color to your balloon palette so the decor and the glow read as one design — not two vendors sharing a room.
